Effective immediately, as of 4:20 PM on Friday, May 17, 2019, all required microbiological testing of water samples from the area affected by the boil water advisory issued for Menendez Avenue on St Simons Island on Thursday May 16, 2019 has passed. DRINKING WATER WARNING BOIL YOUR WATER FOR THREE MINUTES BEFORE USING The St Simons Island water system lost pressure in the area serving Menendez Avenue on Thursday, May 16, 2019 due to materials failure in a 2″ PVC fitting. BGJWSC staff is onsite now restoring service. Once service has been restored, BGJWSC lab personnel will collect water samples for testing. Planned Road Closure for Repairs – 2100 block of Wolfe Street in Brunswick

Attention Road Closure Notification In order to perform sewer gravity main repairs in the area, the 2100 block of Wolfe Street in Brunswick between L Street and K Street will be closed to thru traffic. The road closure will begin at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 15th and last until 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 16, 2019. On Friday, May 3, 2019, Jimmy Junkin verbally expressed his desire to resign from the JWSC for personal reasons.
