Coronavirus Update

JWSC takes the safety and health of our business community and staff very seriously and we urge everyone to follow the guidelines and protocols issued by public health officials. Due to active cases of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) being reported in the SE Georgia/NE Florida area, JWSC Procurement is taking the following precautionary measures, effective immediately:

  • Supplier Meetings: All planned supplier meetings will be either rescheduled or changed to conference call or WebEx.  All communications shall be conducted via phone or email as practical. Any unscheduled or unsolicited visitors from the supplier community will not be granted access to meet with the JWSC staff and shall be turned away and instructed to make phone or email contact to schedule a formal appointment if deemed necessary by JWSC staff.
  • Supplier Deliveries: All planned supplier deliveries will be accepted with prior scheduling through the JWSC  Warehouse and Administrative staff.  The staff will wear gloves during this time and all parties should practice social distancing and limit close interaction as much as possible.
  • Mandatory Pre-Bid Meetings: All mandatory, in-person Pre-Bid Meetings will be either rescheduled or changed to a conference call or WebEx.
  • Non-Mandatory Pre-Bid Meetings: All non-mandatory, in-person Pre-Bid meetings will be changed to conference call or WebEx.
  • Bid Due Dates:
    • All bid due dates for current solicitations will be extended to a later date.
    • Bids may still be delivered in person or sent via mail.
    • Any updates to current solicitation bid due dates will be posted on this website via addendum.
    • Alternative solutions are being reviewed to determine how bid proposals will be received in the future.
  • Bid Openings: Bid openings for current solicitations will be pushed out to later dates. Any updates to current solicitations along with solicitation addendums will be posted on this website.
  • Solicitations: Please frequently visit our website page, https://www.bgjwsc.org/departments/procurement/ to see any updates and addendums to current solicitations. Any updates will be posted on this website. For upcoming solicitations, alternative solutions are being reviewed to determine how to effectively conduct the solicitation process given the emerging circumstances.
  • Awards: Contract approval awards will be rescheduled as JWSC Committee and Commission meeting schedules permit.

Thank you for your cooperation as we adapt to the changes in our daily work activities. These changes in our protocols will remain in place until further notice. If the situation changes, any updates will be posted on this website.

You may find it helpful to view presentations from various members of our staff given to members of the Commission during our 2017 Orientation.
