Effective immediately, as of 9:00 AM on Friday, June 12, 2020, all required microbiological testing of water samples from the area affected by the boil water advisory issued for Sections of Old Demere and Demere on SSI on June 11, 2020 have passed. DRINKING WATER WARNING BOIL YOUR WATER FOR THREE MINUTES BEFORE USING The St Simons Island water system lost pressure on the distribution main serving sections of Old Demere Road adjacent to the intersection with Demere Road down to Mallery Street on Thursday, June 11, 2020 due to scheduled repairs. Planned Water Outage for Repairs – Sections of Old Demere and Demere on SSI – June 10, 2020

Attention Planned Water Outage In order to perform distribution main upgrades in the area, water service will be intermittent beginning at or about 8:00 p.m. until midnight on Wednesday, June 10, 2020 for sections of Old Demere Road adjacent to the intersection with Demere Road down to Mallery Street. Once service has been restored, a precautionary boil water advisory will be issued until 24 hours following the last point of repair. The map below details the impacted area:
