Steve Swan, Executive Director

Charlie Dorminy, Legal Counsel

Chairman Elliott called the meeting to order at 2:00 PM.

Commissioner Perry made a motion seconded by Commissioner Boland to adjourn to executive session to discuss personnel matters. Motion carried 7-0-0.

Back in session

Commissioner Boland made a motion seconded by Commissioner Cason to add an item to the agenda under discussion for a personnel matter. Motion carried 7-0-0.

Discussion to vote on Personnel matter

Commissioner Boland made a motion seconded by Commissioner Perry to suspend Executive Director, Steve Swan, for a period of 30 days without pay and to give the Chairman the authority to appoint an interim Executive Director including anyone serving on the current commission. There will be a written reprimand filed in his personnel file. During the 30 day period he will return his keys of all facilities and the business phone will be turned over to the chairman. In the future, the Executive Director is to have no communication with the radio station and that any contact with the newspaper will be dealing strictly with stories that directly affect JWSC.  The JWSC issued telephone will be for business dealings only and his personal phone will be separate and there will be no business on his personal phone.

Vote was 6-1-0 (Commissioner Booker cast the opposing vote).
