Effective immediately, as of 7:50 PM on Monday, February 12, 2024, full water pressure has been restored for residents of Glynn Haven neighborhood on St. Simons Island. BGJWSC staff repaired a main break caused by a contractor severing the pipe. As water pressure was maintained during the repair according to established guidelines, water does not need to be boiled and meets safe drinking water standards.

BOIL YOUR WATER FOR THREE MINUTES BEFORE USING
The Brunswick water system lost pressure on the system serving Riverside Dr on Saturday, January 27, 2024, due to material failure of an 8″ PVC watermain. Once service has been restored, our BGJWSC lab personnel will collect water samples for testing. This testing, which takes between 18 and 24 hours, should be completed the afternoon of Sunday, January 28, 2024, at which time an all-clear message will be posted.

Brunswick: To perform sanitary sewer gravity main replacement due to a collapsed line, commuters of Shangri La Avenue will experience a full road closure on the west end of the 200 block, adjacent to Hornet Dr. The road closure will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 10th, and last until 5:00 p.m. Homeowner/business access will be maintained but all other traffic should be prepared to take another route.
